Whaddya think of this handsome fellow?
He's Richard Barnbrook, a newly elected British National Party Counciller.
The BNP is an upstart group of fright-wing Family Values brandishers, the type that demands decent citizens to get "homosexuality out of the schools."
Unfortunately for Mr. Barnbrook, The Evening Standard newspaper has discovered a porn film he directed and produced in college, called "HMS Discovery: A Love Story"— which he vehemently defends as an "art film."
I love art films, don't you? This one features "naked men clawing passionately at each other's bodies," and "repeated scenes of flagellation."
Furious, Barnbrook says he did not write the erotic poetry played across the footage.
"I am not interested in this," he said. "It was an art film - end of story. It was not a bloody porn film."
Well, that settles it, then! But this guy would never make it in the GOP, where making an art film would be the last word in depravity. Even the smallest association with "poetry" would be the last straw.
