I'd Like to Make Weekend Plans With You and Your Husband
My goodness, it IS almost strawberry season!
I thought no one could come close to Polly Wally for the mirth of non-monogamy, but this new musical comedy duo, Riegel and Blatt, has made me believe again.
Video written and performed by: Riegel & Blatt, Director: Andrew Miller, DP: Quyen Tran, Featuring: Angela Trimbur, Marian Belgray, Megan Hollingshead, Liam O'Brien, Drake Coker, Halla Timon and Eden Riegel.
Thanks to talented tunesmith Camille for sharing this with me!

Another of their music videos, "Put Your Finger in My Butt" is pretty good too, and you learn something new about George and Martha Washington. Great lyrics.

Yay, Reigel and Blatt! I've had the pleasure of performing with these guys a couple of times, at The Ukulady's Pony Show (a variety show in Hollywood - her website is TheUkulady.com, and her MySpace is myspace.com/theukulady - there's audio on both pages, so you might want headphones.) They're very funny, very talented, and really, really nice guys.

This is fantastic and totally going to be send to my Marin friends for sure!
If you haven't seen them yet, I think you would really like "The Wet Spots"...look them up as they are just as great live as their videos are!

This video cuts so close to the bone for my partner and I its scary! Whats happened to us? Will we have to wait until the kids go to college to have exciting weekend trysts again?
Actually I had a lot of fun this past weekend at Dinah Shore although no trysts were involved....but it was way more exciting than game night!
Thanks for the shout out. Have fun in New Orleans!

Are you sure it's about non-monogamy? It looks like it could as easily be about settling down as couples and parenthood, and no longer being young, single partiers.

'Bout time they had a decent love song for people who are outta their teens and 20's! And who might not necessarily be looking for [insert monogamaniac love-song cliche here].

This seems a total parody of straight coupledom, rather than pro-poly. But did he really say SINfandel?

I have to agree, anything sexual is strictly implied. Maybe other songs show their poly bent, but this one seems to be a parody phenomena of couples that need other couples to associate with because they can no longer relate to single people (straight coupledom, if you will).
Peace,
Rich

Beautiful video - definitely a similar situation going on here in the UK! A good alternative title may be "What happens when the middle class hit 30..."

I actually don't think this is promoting polygamy---the joke here is that married-with-kids people are desperate to connect with other couples through game night, Farmer's Markets, and nothing more (because they're too tired, etc. for anything else), and, of course, notice the guys simply split at the end! Still, it has a sexy vibe, and COULD make sugarplums dance in one's head. Fun!
