Susie Bright & Betty Dodson Take Over iTunes!
In Bed with Susie Bright
Podcast Sampler - Interview with Betty Dodson, The Jill-Off Godmother
Susie and Betty, on iTunes at last!
Click link above to listen to the whole interview...
If Betty Dodson didn't invent female masturbation, she was the first woman to wave the pink flag. This 78-year-old is not afraid to tell it like it is.
Dodson first made headlines back in 1974 with her book Liberating Masturbation, and went on to inspire the whole idea behind The Vagina Monologues.
Susie and Betty discuss the G-Spot, inter-generational sex— and what it was like when Betty's mom first asked her daughter about her clitoris.
This special INWSB show for iTunes is part of a twelve-episode free sampler we've produced for iTunes Podcast fans, in their Health:Sexuality category. Thanks to Lorax and Kidder for all their help!
(If you're already an In Bed listener, this is your chance to turn on your skeptical friends, with a free taste! Then let them be seduced into the depravity...)
If you are intrigued with this sample and want to hear more, you can subscribe to my weekly show at Audible for less than 2 crackers a week...

Dear Sports Fans,
This was a tricky post to put up, and I'd like to give you "close readers" a behind-the-scenes explanation...
The link to the interview is a freebie promo for an experiment I'm conducting on iTunes.
As many of you know, I've done a weekly audio show for Audible for seven years, starting before there was such a thing as an "iPod" or a "podcast!" Don't laugh, young turks!
Anyway, Audible hires me to produce and host "In Bed", and they charge their listeners to listen to it— unlike iTunes podcasts, which are all free.
iTunes podcasters support their shows by advertising, marketing their own products on the show, or out of their own pocket— sometimes all three!
Anyway, I've always wanted to reach out to the iTunes crowd, which is MILLIONS of listeners, in the hopes that if they really liked my show, they might consider laying down the couple bucks to subscribe. So, we devised a little free-sampler season, that we're going to roll out this summer. It's the famous drug-pusher model: give them a taste, and then get them hooked.
My motivation, aside from sheer pride about our show, is that my compensation is directly related to sales, and being everyone's Favorite Little Secret at Audible is not amounting to a hill of beans if I don't get the word out!
Of course, some people wonder, "Why don't you podcast for free, why don't you get your own advertisers?"
Those are good "start-up" questions that if I was beginning from scratch— I would ask them, too!
But in this case, INWSB is a long-standing job of mine, which I produce with a big team of people every week. So I'm trying to make the most of it, as the production values and talent we bring to it wouldn't happen any other way.
The technology for iTunes requires that I post my podcast feed on this blog, every week, for the 12 weeks we're doing it. The embedded code is what prompts the iTunes machine to update their listings, so anyone can find me when they go to the iTunes Store.
These shows will be familiar to those of you who've been INWSB listeners for more than a year— so for you early adopters, it's not new. Please accept my apologies for the repetition, and thanks for understanding my effort!
But if you're a newcomer to my show, or if you missed some of my old episodes, please do go wild, and enjoy these interviews... they're all really fun, and we had a ball putting them together!

Of course if you're an Audible subscriber *and* use an iPod it's all seamless. You subscribe via Audible...follow their instructions to add your Audible subscriptions to your iTunes Podcasts, and boom! - you have your In Bed edition right there with your iTunes podcasts each week. It's well worth the price of admission, folks!
