WASHINGTON -- Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) mocked Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday for trying to stop cuts to the nation's food stamp program, questioning the program's morality and saying that her type of thinking would bleed the treasury dry.
Sessions ridicules the economics of domestic food aid to the poor and hungry, saying he doesn't believe it brings more into the economy than it gives up. But that IS the truth! -- He prefers truthiness, the alternate reality where "welfare queens" and immoral nasty people are bleeding this country dry. YEAH RIGHT.
I wonder if he knows that more registered Republicans are on the food stamp rolls right now than any other time in history.
