50 Ways To Light Your Bougies

Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we still have each other

Last night I celebrated (my ex, and dear friend) Honey Lee Cottrell's 62nd birthday at "AsiaSF", a trannie cabaret and restaurant where your waitress transforms into a bar-top chanteuse and erotic dancer.

More incandescent bar-stage photography, by HLC, here!

You might think that with over-the-top performance like this, you'd be grateful for peanuts and gin, but NO! The food is incredible— from Thai shrimp salad, to spicy mussels in broth, to ginger rice pudding— OH MY.

Our waitress/diva, Ginger, had a mind like a steel trap and thighs to match. I couldn't believe she took our order, emceed the show like Jackie Susann on a bender, changed costumes five times, and mounted the stage with aplomb.

The Dancer you see pictured here did a version of Rianna's "Umbrella" that put the original in the shade...

Happy Birthday, Honey Lee

Honey Lee in her first Big Sur Bubble Bath. That's her toes reaching out to the heavens on the right.

Today's Honey Lee Cottrell's birthday, and if you see her, give her  a hug and a pinch— plus an extra one from me! Send her an email if you're geographically indisposed like me: honeyleec at sbcglobal dot net.

Honey Lee is my ex, my daughter's godmother, and my first mentor in art photography. She was the inspiration for Nothing But The Girl.

It all started when she graciously offered to be On Our Backs' first centerfold in 1984 ("Bulldagger of the Month")— but if I did a photo spread of her today, I think I'd call it: Rock Steady. We have been friends for 25 years.

Here's your slice of birthday song, baby!

My Old Man

Img_7937 It's Jonny's Birthday. Today.

I have offered to follow him anywhere, all day, to find surf. However, with the lack of big storms in either hemisphere, it's more likely to be a pancake party.

For one of his birthday presents, I got him this. It's huge and awesome and we can't stop pawing at it.

I love you baby!
