CAN'T LOAD MY BLOG?

Seriously, if you've checked your connections, your ISP, your browser, and it seems to be only a problem with my site, please do write me and I'll investigate right away.

BLOG PIG, HIGH BANDWIDTH

Because my site offers graphics, web videos, and music, it does thrive on high bandwidth. You will probably not be able to see it very well, or at least very quickly, on a dialup modem.

NOT SAFE FOR PRUDES

The most common reason that people can't get to my site is because of censorious firewalls erected at their place of work or school. I would encourage you to protest to your sysadmin and ask that the ban be removed.

There is nothing illegal on my site, and in fact, there is no content here, in subject or pictures, that you couldn't find on The New York Times, The New Yorker, or Vanity Fair. And yes, that includes bare breasts and controversial subjects.

I've written a story about what's going on behind "Not Safe for Work" firewalls and bans— they're no favor to anyone, and a disaster for democratic discussion. Dissidents all over the world face these censures, and sexual politics are a particular political target.

WHO DESIGNS AND DISHES UP THIS BLOG?

My blog server is Typepad. I use their basic design templates and add a little monkey-level HTML myself.
