When looked at this photo I realized for the first time that I was taller than my mom. This photo was taken by Mary in Paso Robles, one of her few friends, who she respected so much. Mary was one of the intellectual West Coast bohemians, really beautiful with long white hair. You sort of imagined her being up in Big Sur with Weston and Miller.
