Betty Jo's Valentines

  • Rooster
These are valentines from my mother's childhood scrapbook, "Betty Jo" Halloran. They were sent and received, from her siblings, grandparents, cousins, and friends, from 1929 to 1938, in Fargo, North Dakota, and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Please enjoy them with my love. xoxo, Susie

Melissa (oddharmonic)

You made me laugh so hard that I had a coughing fit! (I'm a couple days into a holiday cold.) When I cook this weekend, we'll think of your exclamation when I put the apples in the oven. Mine are less nutty and even gooier, using dulce de leche, whole vanilla beans (I buy them by the pound from The Organic Vanilla Bean Company on eBay) and Mexican cinnamon.

Ruth

Made these last night and got the giggles while cramming the marshmallows in. Amusing AND delicious
